Talk: ‘Wiltshire at War: the stories so far’

Talk: ‘Wiltshire at war: the stories so far’

 Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre

February 28th 2017 @ 10:30 – 11:30am

In this inspiring talk, Leighton will be sharing the exciting progress made so far in documenting Wiltshire’s social history through the First World War, and the role played by those who stayed behind in supporting and surviving ‘the war to end all wars’. He’ll be sharing some of the stories collected so far – from the heart-warming to the tear-jerking. Tales of the women and children; soldiers, nurses and even animals! the families who sacrificed so much in these incomprehensible circumstances, and the positive ways in which Wiltshire society was able to continue functioning, thanks to the spirit of ‘each person playing their part’.

* Tickets for the talk are £3 each. To book your place, please contact Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre via the details below *
